Hello fellow Mennonites, near Mennonites, and perhaps even ex-Mennonites. I just want to take a quick to highlight an event going on this weekend in Winnipeg -- it sounds like a really interesting FREE conference. I'm hoping that between school, work, and other commitments, I'll have have a chance to pop by -- let me know if you'll be there, and maybe you can write a blurb for the blog!

Title: Ex-Mennonite/Near Mennonite: Liturgical, Non-denominational, Secular

Description: This academic and community education conference considers the process by which Mennonites have become non-Mennonites, either as individuals or as church groups. The conference is hosted by the Chair in Mennonite Studies at the University of Winnipeg and takes place on October 3 & 4, 2014. Free admission. Register on site.

The website states that presented will be "papers based in the past or present and that consider the process by which Mennonites have become non-Mennonites, either as individuals or as church groups."
