Robert S. Kreider, a Mennonite educator and historian, died on Dec. 27, 2015, at the age of 96. Kreider taught at Bluffton College, Ohio, and at Bethel College, Kansas, where he also directed the Mennonite Library and Archives. Kreider played a key role in acquiring 23 printing plates that illustrated the 1685 edition of the Martyrs Mirror. He also curated the Mirror of the Martyrs exhibit that toured throughout Canada and the U.S. in 1990. In 2000, The Mennonite magazine included him in their list of the top 20 most influential Mennonites in the twentieth century. He wrote many articles for Mennonite periodicals, especially on topics of peace and Mennonite history. He and his wife Lois had celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Nov. 28. —Canadian Mennonite staff
