Mennonite Men Tithe Grant approved

June 1, 2020

The board of Mennonite Men approved a grant of US$10,000 for the Mission Anabaptist Church, a new Anabaptist/Mennonite congregation in Myanmar that has quickly out-grown its current worship space. Supported by both Mennonite Church Eastern Canada and Mennonite Church Canada Witness, the rapidly growing congregation is a developing connection point for Anabaptist/Mennonite mission agencies responding to invitations to minister in the Chin State. The dream of new worship space has taken shape with the purchase of land and the development of plans to provide suitable gathering space for worship and other programing for the congregation and the community. As the most under-resourced state in Myanmar, the Chin State, where the church is located, is mountainous and remote, and the cost of living and building such a structure is very high. Pastor Chan Kep Tu said on behalf of Mission Anabaptist Church, “Your financial support helps us to build a wonderful worship place for our congregation. Also, we believe this contribution will have a great impact on our church.” Mennonite Men is the men's organization for MC Canada and MC U.S.A., with a mission of “engaging men to grow, give and serve as followers of Jesus.”
