Justin Zacharias has been appointed Director of Camping Ministries for Mennonite Church Manitoba, as a half time, interim position that focuses on the development of a long range camping strategy including a new governance structure. Beginning his duties Aug. 8, 2011, he will also give oversight to Camps with Meaning, the ongoing camping ministry of MCM.

Justin’s background includes pastoral ministry, mission work, camping ministry, and marketing. His education includes Biblical studies, commerce, and environmental studies. He is passionate about sharing his faith in Jesus, and he sees the camping programs as opportunities for the broader church to share faith, love children and adults, and train leadership.

Justin, who has served on the MCM board for several years, is recently married to Vanessa and they continue to live in Winkler. He will be commuting to the office in Winnipeg one day a week and will do the rest of his work either at home or at one of our camp sites. He also hopes to be in many MCM churches on Sunday mornings reporting on camp ministry.
